“You’ll see it’s not that bad. Well… just accommodate.” Her dad told her - “Just try and feel okay. Enjoy the amenities and avoid the rest.” She simply couldn’t go that way. She said: “I hate those buildings”. She said: “I hate those faces. All the cameras in all the public places. All those suburban drive-ins, all those suburban marts. The chemical food in your shopping karts. I hate the propaganda called ‘journalism’. I hate the phony ways, the war called ‘peace’. Can’t stand the blindfolds, can’t stand the fact that almost everyone somehow agrees. Yeah, somehow everyone seems to have forgotten what it takes to live and that it’s not enough to keep quiet and to pretend that everything’s okay - ‘cause everything's at stake. I think it is time that we pump the brakes. I know what’s going on. I know what’s going wrong, although millions are busy to hide it. I know what’s insane and who’s to blame. And now I will go out to fight it. Yes, I will!” She couldn’t go that way.
