They’ve been destroying for thousands of years, big black holes everywhere. And it’s obvious that quite soon this world will be damaged beyond repair. So why do you still follow them? Why do you believe in and defend what they say? Are you ignorant, are you stupid? Why do you walk their way? Have they suceeded in indoctrinating you? Have you been brainwashed? Tell me what happened. You don’t want to be their puppet, do you? So please, think for a second.

Shake your head, call me insensitive, sick when I make a sardonic joke. Sorry, I dropped a brick. Have a burger and a diet coke in your suburban home - wow, très chic. Some day you’ll have to choke. Get drunk every weekend, that’s perfectly okay. Look down on people who do it on a Monday. Some tabloid magazines, some CDs on an ikean shelf. TV keeps you informed. Enjoy yourself. And we just don’t know how to behave. It’s an insane, radical design. Donate ten bucks at the mall. I wouldn’t give a dime. Yes, peace and freedom. This country can teach everyone. There’ll be a day when all of this is gone.

And he lies awake all night. Thinking, thinking 'bout his life - there are so many things he does not understand. His plans do always fail. He doesn't have much friends who come to his defense. Fears he cannot repress, problems he just cannot solve make him suffer bad. It seems there's no way out. His life seems to be down the drain, he can't go on. There's always something wrong. Still he does not give up - 'cause better days will come. And I wish him the best of luck.

22 now, still the story of your life is not worth telling. You’re as ordinary as the rest. Perhaps not as stupid and ignorant as the average guy, but all in all you fit in almost perfectly. Too lethargic to make a real change. You feel so sad, you feel so strange. Too lethargic to make a real change. Ten years give or take a few and you’ll vote for the Social Democrats. Spend your time watching TV and eat at McDonald’s with me (well, maybe). Perhaps not as stupid and ignorant as the average girl, but all in all you’re bound to fit into this world.

He's keen on games, he's keen on fun, he's looking for eternal sun. There should be a party every day and night. He's got cool friends, a pretty girl, he gets along in happy world. Everything is really nice and shining bright. Living is easy once again. Nothing goes wrong, he can't complain. Doesn't notice if you're standing in the rain. Serious thoughts are of no use and he forgot about the blues, about the way you feel when you're about to lose. Happy guy. You're so ignorant now 'cause you stopped asking why. Happy Guy. Close your eyes so you won't see them cry. Locked himself inside a bubble where he's safe from any trouble. I hope one day it's gonna burst like hell. Happy guy. Don't escape this reality, don't say goodbye. Happy Guy. Stop pretending - do something and try.

Slipped and fell into despair. Once again you're going nowhere. Sick of this dark and dreadful place. Sometimes it seems that there is no way through this maze. Longing to escape from all this mess, from this stupidity and carelessness, you lock the door, put down the windowshade, disconnect the phone and hope this sick world will fade. But you may wait forever and ever - things will stay the same. Step outside and find yourself in the middle of the pouring rain. So get an umbrella. Get a torch. Get a compass. Get a broom.

A 9/11 Song 02:25
Don't have to take a closer look to see that nothing's changed (maybe some tax related stuff has been rearranged). Everything's still the same, still the same old mess and will be for years to come. That's not just a wild guess. 'Cause we haven't learned anything, and we're too fucked up to begin. They aren't bad guys just as long as they do as we say. Don't ask no questions while "cooperating" - just that way. And there's no human rights when there’s money to be made. Agreements have to end where “interests” are at stake. No, we haven’t learned anything. And we’re too fucked up to begin. Perpetuate ignorance, we love to be deceived. Narrow-minded, or more likely: blinded. Perpetuate ignorance, we love to be deceived and it's all been hypocritical grief.

I know what you’ve done, know what you’ve become and don’t say it’s just for fun. Turned 180 degrees, gave in to a disease that I thought we’d just begun to fight. Don’t tell me everything’s alright. Nothing is gonna be alright. I know sometimes it feels pointless to oppose - when no one listens and everything is torn apart. But that is not a reason, not a reason, no. There’s no reason for selling your heart. What made you give in? Say when did you begin to turn your back on our ideas? You look at me and say: ”To me it feels okay. I should never have bothered anyway”. Don’t tell me we can’t change a thing. I don’t care ‘bout your reckonings.

This time you don’t wanna go, no. This time you don’t wanna show up ‘cause you know what it will be like: A bunch of kids trying to be cool, a bunch of kids who act like fools. They don’t seem to care about anything at all while we’re all heading for a fall. This time you don’t wanna go. This time you don’t wanna show up. This time you don’t wanna go. No, no. You don’t want to waste your time and home alone can be just fine. Yet: go there is what you do anyway, ‘cause maybe this time someone has got something to say. Besides, you wouldn’t feel okay and you wouldn’t find sleep if you stayed. Your mind would just go astray. One - it is such a lonely number, lonely.

Everything was better way back then. I never wanna hear that left wing crap again. We’re unemployed ‘cause immigrants tooks our jobs. Those punks should be arrested by the cops. Our nation fought this war to establish peace. Homosexuality is a disease. I need my quarter-pounder, vegetarians suck. Feminists just need a decent fuck. Beware, be aware: there’s a million assholes out there. Atomic energy really ain’t that bad. For god and country until I’m dead. To be part of the free market means to be free. The best music is played on MTV. Beware, be aware: There’s a million assholes out there. Beware, be aware: There’s ignorance everywhere. They’re out to get you, open your eyes. Think again and don’t believe in their lies.

So you think ordinary guys like you and me are independent, free to choose? Hey, that’s crap ‘cause no matter how we decide, either way we lose. We lose. 9 to 5 kills creativity, you just work, sleep and consume. If you’re unemployed you got time to think - only to get depressive soon. Don’t you realize sometime long ago they just made us their fools. We’re just their fools. If you vote in an election there are two possibilties: You can vote for a right-wing asshole or for a soon-to-be-right-wing left wing phony. Can’t you see that things went wrong? Wrong - way back in history. What I’m trying to say is: you can only pick one evil or another in this system / society. What I’m trying to tell you: this world is so fucked up. Now please stop cracking bad jokes and don’t ever call it “free”. Don’t you realize sometime long ago they just made us their fools. Don’t you realize sometime long ago we became our own fools.

Now this is just another disease. Hell, it ain’t no democracy. And if they tell you something else, it’s fraudulence or bigotry. Bigotry. Things aren’t black and white, I know, but there are basic truths, okay? If it is profit over people - see, there should be just one way. Just one way. And that’s to spit in their face. Abolish, erase, destroy the deadly groove. Come on let’s tear their world down and build up our own. That’d be a real smart move. Go reject their values, start today. Gotta stop that slow decay. Go reject their values, start today. Gotta find a better way.

So we started drinking early this evening. And we were ?#! by 9. pm. Thought it was better than spending the night grieving, worrying ‘bout things so difficult to change. We felt safe from harm and our sorrows, they slowly faded away (as some pathetic guy in some pathetic song would chant, or to make these lines rhyme: would say). We let go, we let go. Lay on the floor in a state of utter happiness. Just let go. Felt alcohol’s sweet caress. Some people say what we did was stupid and in a way I think they’re right. We didn’t solve one single problem when we were drunk on the floor that night. But then again, we had a good time, after another bad day we were able to smile. It’s nice to drink away everything at least once in a while. Once in a while. Let go, let go. Lie on the floor and just feel at ease. Let go, let go. Yeah, simply lie on the floor and ignore the bad things in this world. Crank up the stereo and play your favourite songs. Sing along with your friends, then fall asleep assured that all the other guys, they’re all wrong.
